Register for CRA My Account and My Business Account

If you have a CRA My Account (personal), skip ahead to Step 2.

Step 1 - Register for My Account

Register to get a CRA Security Code

1. Go to this website: CRA My Business Account

2. Scroll down, and choose the “CRA register” option:

   

Make sure you have a copy of last year’s personal tax return on hand when registering, as CRA will ask a random question about the return to verify it is you.  Once you answer a few questions, they will ask you how you want to get your security code delivered, either email or regular mail service.  

Step 2 - Register My Business Account

1. Navigate to the “Profile” section of your account

   

2. Under “Business number(s) in your profile select Manage Business number(s) in your profile

   

3. Select “Add Business”.  On the next page enter your business number and follow the on-screen prompts to add the business to your My Business Account.
